What 14001 Certification  Can Do for You

Environmental Accountability

ISO 14001 provides a structured framework for identifying and managing your organization's environmental impacts. Certification demonstrates to customers, regulators, and the public that you take your environmental responsibilities seriously.

Regulatory Confidence

A certified EMS helps ensure your organization stays ahead of environmental regulations and legal obligations. Proactively managing compliance reduces risk and protects your business from unexpected regulatory issues.

Cost Savings Through Efficiency

Reducing waste, energy consumption, and raw material use are core outcomes of a well-implemented EMS. Organizations consistently report lower operational costs as a direct result of ISO 14001 implementation.

Competitive Advantage

More and more customers -- especially in manufacturing, automotive, and government supply chains -- require ISO 14001 certification from their suppliers. Certification opens doors to new business opportunities.

The Certification Process

Understand the Standard

1.  ISO 14001:2015 establishes the requirements for an Environmental Management System. Our team will walk you through what the standard requires and how it applies to your specific operations and industry.

Gap Analysis

2.  We assess your current environmental practices against ISO 14001 requirements, identifying what's already in place and what needs to be developed or strengthened before your Stage 1 audit.

Build Your EMS Documentation

3.Your EMS requires documented policies, objectives, and procedures. This includes your environmental policy, aspect and impact register, legal compliance obligations, and operational controls.

Stage 1 Audit (Document Review)

4.  Your ITA auditor reviews your EMS documentation and evaluates your organization's readiness for Stage 2. This review confirms your system is sufficiently developed and identifies any areas to address before the on-site audit

Stage 2 Audit (On-Site Assessment)

5.Our auditor visits your facility to verify that your EMS is implemented and effective. We evaluate conformance to ISO 14001 requirements and the real-world operation of your environmental controls.

Certification and Ongoing Surveillance

6.Upon successful completion, ITA issues your ISO 14001:2015 certificate. Annual surveillance audits and a three-year recertification cycle keep your certification current and your EMS continually improving.

Following these steps not only helps in achieving ISO 14001 certification but also sets the stage for a stronger environmental culture, reduced regulatory risk, and long-term operational sustainability within your organization.

Independent assessment creates consumer confidence, and verifies your organization’s commitment to the environment.
